Here is a list of the events that may be of interest to Radio Scouts. Events that have passed are left here for a while for reference.

If you would like an event included, sent the details via the Contact page. Be sure to include the name of the event, callsign, the start & end dates, a brief description of the event and the part played by Radio Scouting, a link to the event’s web page and an email contact for the organiser.

11-13 January 2019   Winter Camp

Callsign: GB2GP.
Where: Gilwell Park.
Description: Many activities including Radio Orienteering.

16-17 February 2019   Thinking day on the Air

Callsign: There will be many stations each with their own callsign.
Where: All over the World.
Description: Similar to JOTA but run by the Guides.

2-3 March 2019     ARRL International DX – Phone Contest

Callsign: GB100GP.
Where: Gilwell Park, London.
Description: The Amateur Radio SASU intend to take part in the contest.

13-14 April 2019    CQ World Scouts Contest

Callsign: Each competitor has their own.
Where: All over the World.
Description: A Worldwide contest for Scout stations organised by the Scouts of Brazil.

 June 2019     Practical Wireless 144MHz QRP Contest

Callsign: Each competitor has their own.
Where: Mainly in the UK.
Description: A friendly contest – Scouts may enjoy taking part.

Description: 24 hours of fun and adventure.

22 July 2019 – 2 August 2019   24th World Scout Jamboree

Callsign: NA1WJ (North America’s 1st World Jamboree)
Where: Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve, West Virginia, USA
Description: The two main goals for the station are:
1 – Introduce the science, technology, fun, and magic of amateur radio operation to Scouts and Scout leaders from around the world.
2 – Serve as the amateur radio voice of the Jamboree via two-way radio contacts within the Summit and worldwide.

Where: Gilwell Park, London.
Description: Members of the Amateur Radio National SASU plan to operate GB100GP for the days around the anniversary, 26th July.
